The British pair will compete again at the same venue on Sunday in the second race of the weekend's double-header.
"Today's race was all about building confidence in speed and especially in downhill so I'm super proud of our performance," Fitzpatrick said.
"Katie couldn't have done a better job and I can't wait to give it another go tomorrow."
The Macclesfield-born skier is Britain's most-decorated Winter Paralympian with six medals.
"It is a great foundation to lay at the beginning of the season," GB Para-alpine head coach Ally Brown said of Fitzpatrick's latest achievement.
"The most exciting thing is that I know that there is much more to come from Menna and Katie."
