Zulu monarch, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has cancelled his wedding with his third fiancée, Nomzamo Myeni.

The Zulu monarch and Myeni were set to get married next week, although this was met with a court interdict by his first wife, Queen Ntokozo Mayisela.

The Zulu king now says the wedding is off.

Earlier in January, the monarch announced that he would be tying the knot with his third partner.

But in a letter written to the KwaZulu-Natal government’s director general, Dr Nonhlanhla Mkhize, his majesty called off the wedding, citing reasons beyond the control of the royal house.

The king also requested that Myeni’s benefits, including the security detail assigned to her, be withdrawn.

The said wedding was also being challenged through the courts by the king’s first wife.

The matter is expected to be heard in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Sunday.
