Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South Constituency and Ghanaian educationist Alfred Oko Vanderpuije has stated that same-sex marriage will never be legalized in Ghana.
Speaking in an interview on GTV’s Breakfast show monitored by Ghgossip.com, the member of parliament stated emphatically that same-sex marriage will never be legalized in the country. According to him, when the day comes for parliamentarians to vote, he will vote against the bill to be legalized.

Recounting his youthful days, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije stated that the practice of lesbianism and gayism started way back in the 90s. He recounted how he used to see these people in some parts of Ga areas like Mamprobi, Chokor, Maamobi, and other Ga communities growing up as a child.
He emphasized that he does not have any issue with those practicing same-sex marriage or practicing lesbianism or gayism but has a problem if they are fighting to make it legal. He added that the Ghanaian culture frowns on such acts hence will never be legalized in Ghana.
The issue of the legalization of LGBTQI has been a pressing topic of discussion. Parliament has been debating on the issue of LGBTQI; whether to legalize it or not.

One of the Parliamentarians who has spearheaded the anti-LGBTQI is the member of parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam Dzata George. Sam Goerge who has taken his stand on the matter has been interviewed on international platforms like CNN and BBC to explain why Ghana will not legalize the act of same-sex marriage.
